Summit Educational Foundation Announces Fall 2025 Grants Over $99,000 Awarded to Summit Public School District

The Summit Educational Foundation (SEF) is pleased to announce our grant awards for the 2025 fall grant cycle. The Foundation approved funding for 24 grants across the district  totaling over $99,000 to support the district’s new goals in content areas of safety and wellness, culture of belonging, and project-based learning. Highlights of approved grants include:


District, Primary Centers & Elementary Schools

●      District-wide rollout of Glint AI, a tool to create multilingual visual supports that help students develop social skills, manage routines, and implement IEP and learning goals. $1,200

●      Provide funding for instrument-based vision screening for all district students. $8,578

●      Fund Mini LiteZilla, an interactive light wall that offers sensory-based, hands-on activities to build fine motor, visual, cognitive, and coordination skills at the primary centers. $2,849

●      Fund the installation of a “Buddy Bench” at Franklin school that promotes kindness and inclusion by giving students a visible, nonverbal way to seek friendship and connect with peers. $870

●      Provide books and a rug to Brayton to create a welcoming classroom library and engage students with relevant reading topics. $1,847

●      Support Brayton students’ emotional regulation, focus, well-being and creativity through the use of yoga and mindfulness. $586

●      Provide second graders at Lincoln Hubbard with hands-on tools to strengthen foundational math skills with Grab-and-Go Toolkits. $2,970

●      Bring Parlay Pro to all 5th grade Lincoln Hubbard classrooms to create structured, inclusive discussions that promote equitable student participation. $480

●      Fund a visit from Living Voices, a multimedia performance that brings history to life through live acting, film and archival images at Brayton. $1,800

●      Provide funding for parent and student presentations by David Flood, a national expert promoting belonging, empathy, compassion and acceptance within the school community. David will visit Franklin, Washington and LCJSMS. $5,000

 

Middle School & High School

●      Purchase of adjustable art tables and chairs to provide much needed updates to the LCJSMS art room. $23,724

●      Upgrade classroom desks and chairs in an LCJSMS ELA classroom to support varied classroom setups that enhance student focus, collaboration, and learning. $14,439

●      Continue funding for the At-Risk Mentoring Program where “at risk” students are given the opportunity to develop a meaningful connection with a staff member at LCJSMS. $11,250

●      Support the Peer Leadership Program which continues to empower a select group of 8th graders to serve as student ambassadors and lead initiatives at LCJSMS. $3,850

●      Equip 10 additional classrooms with Juno FM microphone systems to improve sound clarity, reduce background noise, and enhance student engagement and participation. $3,630

●      Support the use of AI technology through the Glimmer Pilot Program to personalize math instruction and enhance teaching at LCJSMS. $2,000

●      Fund a live martial arts performance for Multicultural Night at LCJSMS, celebrating cultural heritage and strengthening community connections. $500

●      Purchase video and audio equipment to enhance the Sports Media Club experience at SHS and provide students with equal opportunities to develop media production skills. $4,541

●      Purchase Advancer kiln shelves for the L&L and Skutt kilns at SHS. $6,315
